Meet the new student staff leading Teach The Future

This week, Students Organising for Sustainability UK is excited to welcome five new members of staff to the team! All under the age of 18, these new student staff members will be working part-time as Campaign Coordinators to develop our Teach The Future campaign from now until the end of September 2020.

Teach the Future is a completely youth-led campaign to urgently repurpose the entire education system around the climate emergency and ecological crisis. The campaign is run collaboratively by the UK Student Climate Network (UKSCN) and Students Organising for Sustainability UK (SOS-UK).

We are proud to say that these new student staff members are joining the team at the living wage, after receiving generous donations from two private foundations. We have also seconded a member of SOS-UK staff two days a week to join the Teach The Future team as Campaign Manager. To build on the substantial progress and momentum we have created through the campaign to date, the new Teach The Future staff team will be working on increasing our supporter base, media coverage and political engagement, ultimately enhancing the chances of the six campaign recommendations being committed to by the UK Government, and the devolved administrations, in the run up to COP26. They will also be supporting the creation of branches of the campaign in the devolved nations.

We asked the new staff members what makes climate education and the Teach The Future campaign important the them. Find out their answers and more about them by following the links below!
