VACANCY: Teach the Future Political Organiser Role (Wales)

We’re delighted to be recruiting for a Political Organiser to support the development of the Teach the Future campaign. The role will involve working with a diverse group of volunteers to engage a range of stakeholders including government, politicians, civil society and other sectors to repurpose education systems in the UK for the climate emergency. In particular, this role will involve working with volunteers to plan a parliamentary reception in your nation (Wales), engage local and national politicians through events and meetings and develop and contribute to climate education bills and policies.

This 4-month role would make an excellent professional development opportunity for a student or young person aged 14+ interested in climate justice and campaigning. We will support the successful candidate to manage their responsibilities to minimise impact on their education, and their wellbeing will be prioritised. We're not expecting applicants to know everything from day one, and mentoring, training and development opportunities will be provided within the role.

Before applying please carefully consider if you have time to take on the role without it negatively impacting your education or wellbeing. We ask that paid staff are available for Zoom calls during a couple weekday evenings. If you aren't in a position to take on a paid role we'd encourage you to consider joining our volunteer team!

In line with our safeguarding policies, and to support the prioritisation of education and wellbeing in the campaign, we require that applicants under 18 years old provide parental consent when applying.
